Uttrup Secures Stage 2 Victory
ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA-January 13, 2024: 2 Hours, 54 Minutes and 28 Seconds is all it takes for Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig OF FDJ SUEZ RACING TEAM to lift a trophy as the winner for Health Partners Women Stage 2 at Santos Tour Down Under 2024.
The 28-year-old FDJ-Suez gun won the longest Santos Tour Down Under womenโs stage in history with 104.2km between the Glenelg beachside start and the finish at Stirling in the picturesque Adelaide Hills.
ย โPlan A was to sprint for (teammate and reigning Santos Tour Down Under champion) Grace Brown,โโ Ludwig told TV Seven Plus.
ย โWe had it all figured out and how we were going to do it, but Grace didnโt feel good and we had to change the plan and itโs now time to celebrate.
ย โItโs so good to be in Australia where my boyfriend (WorldTour rider Miles Scotson) comes from and itโs awesome.โ
ย After winning a stage of the Tour de France in 2022, the victory has put Ludwig in pole position to claim the Santos Tour Down Under title.
