This partnership between the two organizations shows a huge commitment towards elevating the football development efforts in the state to the highest level. With this collaboration, Sports Direct will become a Silver Partner for the next 2 years.

DYTM Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharifuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, The Crown Prince of Selangor, whom is President of FASandPaul Gibbons, Managing Director of Sports Direct Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. signed this collaboration at Sports Direct HQ in Sunway City to mark a new chapter between a leading sports retail company in the world and a prestigious football association in the country. This collaboration will focus on major football programs organized by FAS, especially Selangor Champions League (SCL), FAS Women Super League (WSL), FAS Juniors League and more.

Sports Direct will endeavor to provide a significant number of promotionalactivitiesand activationsduring the course of this partnership for the benefit of the association and their fans alike. Sports Direct moved to its new headquarters in SunwayCity late last year and is now the regional headquarters for Frasers Group Asia.This new HQ is home to more than 350+ staff as part of a 1,200+ total staff in the business. It will also act as the HQ for it’s regional expansion across South East Asia over the next 2-3 years including a global services division in support of the parent company (Frasers Group PLC) based in London. Sports Direct Malaysia, as a Selangor state based company, also manages a warehouse in Shah Alam and has future plans to procure a new distribution center in the state for regional fulfillment.

Selangor Champions League or SCL will enter it’s sixth edition in 2022 and will host 16 best teams in Selangor. The league was founded by DYTM Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, The Crown Prince of Selangor back in 2016. In this edition, more than 500 players will be competing in the league that will take place from 8th of October until 10th of December 2022. Stadium Arena MBSJ, Subang Jaya has been chosen as the home for the competition for the 4th time since 2018. SCL is the most prestigious league in the state with more than 50,000 supporters attending every year and more than 3 million views.
