Kuching City Held To A Draw

23 OCT, KUCHING: Home side Kuching City FC were held to a 1-1 draw by visitors, Kelantan United in a MFL Challenge Cup match held at Stadium Negeri, Kuching last night.


Kuching City started the match on a positive note with relentless attack in search for an early goal and in the 10 minute, their efforts paid off with their Brazilian midfielder, Bruno Dybal open the scoring account with a stinging low shot, beating Kelantan United goalkeeper Shahril Sa'ari.

Kuching City continue to raid Kelantan United half to strengthen their grips but their attack lack urgency and were thwarted by a very discipline Kelantan United defence.

While continuing to attack the visitors half, a lapse of concentration cause the home side dearly as Kelantan United scored their equaliser through Asraff Alifuddin in the 42 minute after a quick counter attack, beating the offside trap and slotting in the ball beating Kuching City custodian, Wan Azraie. The first half ended 1-1.


The second half started with Kuching City controlling the game with some neat passes trying to penetrate the visitors defence but poor finishing and lack of ideas continue to disappoint them.

The match ended 1-1 with Kuching City having to fly to Kota Bharu for the second leg to decide who will advance to the semi finals of the MFL Challenge Cup.
