JDT DOMINATED THE SULTAN AHMAD SHAH CUP 2023

Iskandar Puteri, 24 February 2023: Johor Darul Ta'zim lived up to the prediction when they dominated the Sultan Ahmad Shah Cup championship for the 6th time in a row in a contribution action which was also the opening of Super League 2023. With the presence of 31,000 supporters, the atmosphere in the stadium was so lively.

Both teams displayed their best starting line-up but Terengganu were shocked when Juan Muñiz scored his first goal in the Super League early in the 5th minute after heading in Bergson Da Dilva's cross. Attempt after attempt was launched by both teams but failed to score.

In the second half, Johor intensified their efforts and the top scorer of the 2022 Super League, Bergson Da Silva, still kept his cool when Arif Aiman's pass was finished by deceiving Suhaimi Husin in the 57th minute. The match ended with Johor Darul Ta'zim beat Terengganu FC 2-0.
