The Toledo Blade reports the man, identified as Eddie Everly, 33, of Dallas, Texas, was kayaking on Ross Lake in Scioto County when he somehow became trapped between the dock and a log. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 2 p.m. Sunday, Toledo Police Department (TPD) officials said. The TPD said a witness flagged down a TPD patrol boat to help pull the dock from the man. CBS affiliate WYFX-TV reported that the Ross Lake Lodge and other businesses were closed at the time, and that the lake was drained as a precautionary measure.
